Obituary of Marjorie Louise RIPLEY

Marjorie Ripley passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the age of 95 years at Staywell Manor in Garrison Woods.

Marjorie was born to Olaf and Nancy Thomasson in Entwistle, Alberta on March 8, 1922. She was raised in Entwistle, where her father owned and operated the General Merchant Store. She married Harold Ripley on September 24, 1943. Marjorie was completely devoted to him throughout their married life. After Harold retired, they enjoyed a wonderful life full of friends, family and travel. They were both members of the Confederation Park Seniors, the Royal Canadian Legion No. 264, and enjoyed hiking with the Alpine club. When Harold passed away in 2002, Marjorie moved to Huntington Hills Manor, where she met her beloved friend, Elmer McMullen. Shortly after Elmer’s passing in 2013, Marjorie moved to Staywell Manor in Garrison Woods.

Marjorie leaves to mourn numerous family members and friends throughout Canada and the U.S.A.

Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, Harold Ripley; brother, Harold (Boyd) Thomasson; sister, Laila Sollway; and sister, Thora McIntyre.

A Memorial Service will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes can be made to a charity of your choice.
