To the families of Doug and Sharon.
I am so sorry for your loss and still in shock. I golfed with Sharon every Tue night and was expecting to golf with her Tue. July 4. I got up that Tue excited to be going out golfing with her that night. And 10:00 am that day, I got the shock of my life. So shocked, I had to confirm it. I have known Kisby and Doug for at least 10 years. I worked Speedskate Canada with Kisby and together we would do the accreditation. I always looked forward to getting together with them for these events.
As well, I played hockey with Sharon for at least 10 years and so enjoyed being her linemate.
Her and Doug will be so missed. I can still her her laugh. And see Doug's gentle smile.
If you need help with anything, please done hesitate to call.

We had the pleasure of working with both Sharon and Doug for a number of years as volunteers with the accreditation team for the World Cup and World Championship Speed Skating events. We shared a lot of laughs with them, narrowly avoided some "interesting" data and photo crises, had the occasional rum to celebrate, and always managed to put on a very professional event. Every once in a while our lives are enriched by the opportunity to meet and know some very special people who leave us better for having known them. For us, Sharon and Doug were two of those very special people. We'll miss them dearly but we're honoured to have had the opportunity to know them. Rest well.

I was saddened when I heard of the passing of two wonderful people in such a tragic way. Doug and Sharon were part of a team of people who brought joy to others through the disabled ski programs locally, nationally and internationally. Doug and Sharon loved life and spent many hours skiing and helping with international races . In their quiet gentle way they touched many lives and brought smiles and laughter to others around them in work as well as in play. Sharon was a gifted artist whose art was enjoyed by all those around them. They were an amazing couple who had a special bond together as sole mates.
I send strength and courage to family and friends and hope that past memories will comfort you. As we mourn the passing of Doug and Sharon lets lift our glasses to celebrate the amazing journey they have had in their short life here on earth and share our memories with each other. I regrettably can not attend the Celebration of their Life.
At this time I will say Adieu to Doug and Sharon with the hope that we will meet again.
