Obituary of Edward "George" RICHARDSON
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather George Richardson on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the age of 95 years.
George was born in Pelly, Saskatchewan, but spent much of his life in Calgary, Alberta. As a young man, he participated in many sports. Later he had served in the Canadian Armed Forces, followed by a career in the trades as a journeyman carpenter. He was a poet and an author of two books that he called “Richardson’s Ramblings”. George enjoyed reading, watching sports on T.V., and especially playing crib. George will be missed by many.
He is survived by his daughters Wilma and Patty; his son Ken; his six grandchildren; his eleven great-grandchildren; his six great-great-grandchildren; as well as many dear relatives and friends.
George was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary; his parents Victoria and Jack; and his nine brothers and sisters.
A Gathering will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
