Obituary of Korstiaan "George" KLYN

George Klyn passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the age of 81 years.

George was born Oct. 7 1935 in Rotterdam Holland to Trudy and Gerrit Klyn.

The family as well as extended family immigrated to Canada in 1955. Soon after arriving he met and married his love Martha and raised two daughters, Diane and Pat.

He worked as the coordinator of utilities for the City of Calgary for 35 years. These friendships with many coworkers lasted until his last days.

George enjoyed spending much of his time in the Kananaskis area forever filming nature and family. He was also a lover of music, from Country to Celtic to Opera, his collection was vast. Always ready to play you his newest Anne Murray, Andrea Bocelli or Rita MacNeil to name a few. George was a warm, generous individual that truly loved a good laugh.

He will live on in fond memories by his daughters, grandchildren, great grandchild, family and friends.

He will be missed by his daughters, Diane, Patricia (Kim); grandchildren, Matthew, Chad, Rosie and Brandyn, great-grandson Jasper; brothers, Pete and Leo as well as his good friend Bryce Brogan.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support through this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow at the residence of Pat Mattern at 92 Gloucester Crescent S.W.
