Obituary of Meghnata RAICAR

It is with deep grief and sorrow that Meghnata Raicar's family announces his passing on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at the age of 84 years.

Megh was born in Goa, India, on October 6, 1932.  He moved to Germany to complete his schooling, graduating as a Petroleum Engineer.  Megh was a very cultured and visionary man, with an excellent taste for, and thorough enjoyment of the best classical music and dance. He arrived in Canada in the 1960's, where he readily found employment in the Petroleum Engineering field. Megh was regarded as a very capable, enthusiastic and dedicated professional by his peers.  He and his beloved wife, Helen, worked relentlessly to help underprivileged children in India and in Canada.  Megh and Helen devoted their lives to charity work.

Megh is survived by his faithful wife, Helen Siong, and his much-loved son, David Raicar.

He will always be remembered for his gracefulness, generosity, kindness, and for his story-telling ability.

Funeral Services will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 3:30 p.m.
