I first saw James in the summer of 1984 when he was fixing Elsie's furnace in Belfast with his Father Louie. I told them I was asking to marry his sister, we spent that afternoon together laughing and talking.
James was a kind and gentle man who showed great love for my son's, and that won my loyalty and respect for a lifetime.
I last saw James in the summer of 2017 when I was asking to pray with him at the hospital. We privately spoke of miracles, of Elsie and Louie, of summers in Kelowna and of his vegetable garden at his moms, laughing and talking. He said I was the only one besides Sharon who often called him James. He was brave, we hugged and said goodbye.
I will see you behind the veil Brother James.

My Brother. Jamie I still have not comprehended that you have left us and are gone forever. The last number of weeks have been stress filled and hectic, you are resting now and free of the pain you had to endure whole we now live with the pain of life without you.
Tomorrow is your day, the day we bid farewell - I hope the send off for you is special for you. Although it's a final send off, please know it's just the beginning of a lifetime of special memories, those which will never be forgotten.
Thanks for all Jamie, through you I have learned so much.
Be strong my little brother, I hope you think of us as much as we will of you. Until such time we can be together and live, love and laugh again, know that you are always in our hearts and I look so forward to seeing you again.
