Obituary of Audrey Helen GLASS

Audrey Glass, beloved wife of Gordon Glass of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the age of 89 years.

Audrey grew up in Edam, living through the depression and ‘dirty 30s’. In June of 1947 she received her qualification as a Hair Dresser.  In October, 1951 she met Gordon at a dance in the Arcade Hall.  They married June 21, 1952 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.  Audrey and Gordon eventually moved to Calgary in 1959 where they lived in the same house for 55 years.  They enjoyed 65 years together.

Audrey was an avid ‘ball’ player and ice-skater.  Some of her favourite past times were going to the Calgary Flame games, curling on the Safeway team and afternoon coffee with her sister, Olive. She also enjoyed traveling; most memorable was her trip to New York, and cruise to Bermuda with family to celebrate her 80th birthday!

Audrey will be remembered for creating a warm home for her family, for being a loving wife, kind and supportive mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Audrey is survived by her children; Ken (Wendie Wisbey), Bob (Lori), and Jim; grandchildren Robert (Jennifer), Joshua (Lisa), Jordan, Honey, Ben and Brontë; great -grandchildren, Keane and Reece; and sister Gwen Zehner.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon; parents Wesley and Vesta; brothers, Larry (Doll), Gene (Jenny); and sister Olive Paulin (Bill).

In accordance with Audrey’s wishes, a family gathering will be planned for a later date.
