Our Mom passed away peacefully at home in the presence of family and friends on Sunday, December 8, 2013.
Mom was quiet, thoughtful and loving. She was a first generation Canadian, a product of her Danish father, Robert Hansen, and her Scottish mother, Euphemia Anderson.
Mourning her loss are her children Sandy (Dave) Jenkins, Bill Munro, Laurie Evans and Shawn (Annette) McCallum. As well she will be missed by her grandchildren Karen, Amanda, Christopher, Shane, Robyn, Taylor, Amie and her great-grandson Jacob. Also mourning her loss is her first husband Bill Munro.
Jill was predeceased by her husband Frank McCallum; brother Jack Hansen; and sons David and Paul Munro.
Moms Celebration of Life will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queens Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charities that were of such help to Mom in the last days of her life: Living with Cancer Day Program at the Sage Centre (Hospice Calgary); the Red Cross Equipment Loan Program or the Canadian Cancer Society Volunteer Driver Program.
We would like to give our sincere thanks to Moms friends, especially Brenda, Carol and Freda. Also thanks to Dr. P. Singh, Dr. D. Skarsgaard, Nadine Strilchuk and the Palliative Home Care team, all of whom allowed Mom to spend her last days at home in relative comfort.
