Obituary of Elizabeth Janet YOUNG
Betty Young of Calgary, Alberta passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the age of 100 years.
Betty was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on May 13, 1917, but was raised in Brooks. She served with the Canadian Red Cross in Europe during WWII and worked at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary for many years as an admitting clerk. She enjoyed volunteering with the Calgary Stampede in numerous roles and also with the Calgary Airport White Hatters. Betty had a love for horses, and always enjoyed both riding and attending horse races. She liked to travel as well.
Betty is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Rest in peace, Auntie Betty.
She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Marjorie Young; her brothers Norman, Robert and Andy; and her sister Marjorie.
