Obituary of Mirjana SIMONOVIC

Mirjana beloved wife of  Zdravko "Simon" Simonovic of Calgary, passed away on February 2, 2018 at the age of 87 years after a long battle with dementia.

Mira was born in Brcko, Bosnia the youngest of 4 children. She escaped Yugoslavia and moved to Nice, France where she met her husband, Zdravko. Together they had a daughter and immigrated to Canada in 1974, where they launched successful restaurants in Alberta and California. She was incredibly hard working, outgoing, and fearless. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a supportive friend to many. She had determination to spare, a beautful singing voice, and a talent for numbers and languages. Mira loved a good joke, especially racy ones; and she loved to cook, bake, and garden. She had a big heart, and if you were loved by her, then you were truly blessed.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 - 4th Street N.W. (within the valley of Queen's Park Cemetery) on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 - 4th Street N.W. (within the valley of Queen's Park Cemetery) on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00am. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
