Obituary of Shelby Bromley TODD
Shelby Bromley Todd (nee Allred), a loving mother, sister, grandmother, auntie, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Southwood Hospice in Calgary, AB at the age of 71 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Shelby was born in Pincher Creek, AB on May 3, 1946 to Jean and Aaron Allred. Shelby attended JP Vanier and Crescent Heights High School in Calgary. She worked for Air Canada in Winnipeg before settling in Calgary. She worked at Tri Link Resources for twenty plus years before she retired from full time work. She continued working part time at various jobs in Calgary. Shelby worked hard but enjoyed spending her “fun” money for trips and shopping. Shelby was a very independent, kind spirited mom and amazing friend who will be missed in all our lives. Shelby really enjoyed her yearly trips to Las Vegas with “the girls” or Errin. The thrill of the slot machines, playing cards, the food, and fun environment – she just loved it! She enjoyed going to movies or a scrabble night with Gayle. Shelby adored and loved her grandchildren Cale and Ian; she had a very special bond with both of them that will live on forever – Gran we love you!
Shelby is survived by Errin Carlson, her loving and only daughter; Errin’s husband, Jason, and grandchildren, Cale and Ian. She is also survived by her sister, Gayle Takenaka and her husband Mamo; and brother, Paul Allred. Shelby also leaves three very special nieces, Kim Schultz and her husband Grant, Melanie Wilke, and Pamela Takenaka. Shelby is predeceased by her parents, Aaron and Jean Allred; sister, Locke Marshall; and brother, Vance Allred.
Funeral Services will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
Thank you to all our family and friends who have helped and sent so many prayers to such a lovely lady.
A special thanks to Southwood Hospice for all the loving care provided.
