Obituary of Constance Sybil LaFONTAINE

Please share a memory of Constance to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With great sadness we announce the passing of our Mum, Constance Sybil LaFontaine on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the age of 92 years.

Connie was born in Worthing, England into a large loving family of three brothers and five sisters to parents Albert and Agnes Dale. “Con” to her sisters and brothers lived her early life during the hard times that occurred up to and during World War II.

Connie met and married a dashing young Canadian Soldier (Les) in England and immigrated to Canada as a true WWII war bride. She moved bravely to a new country and life far from home, starting a family of four children with her new husband. This wonderful lady spent over 70 years caring and nurturing that Canadian family always keeping her English family close in her thoughts.

Connie is survived by her children, Sandra McIntyre (Doug),   Brenda Gold  (Don),  Michael LaFontaine (Debbie); seven grandchildren, Sarah, Erin, Shaun, Emma, Marcia, Jordan and Devan; six great grandchildren,  Liam, Ana, Juliette, Abigail, Jack, and Chloe; sisters, Jean and Sylvia in England.

She is predeceased by her forever loving husband Lester in 1998 and by daughter Barbara Proulx (Danny) in 2017.

A Celebration of Life for Constance (Connie, Mum, Nana, Con) will be held later this year in the warmth of the Summer Sun that she held so dear to her heart.

Connie will then be able to rejoin Lester in their final resting place at Queens Park Cemetery in the Field of Honour, 3219 4th Street N.W., Calgary, AB
