Obituary of Gysbert "Gus" van der Voet

Gus was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and died peacefully in Calgary at the age of 94 years. He is survived by his loving wife Johanna Christina (Peppi); son Frank, daughter-in-law Alicean; grandchildren Theo, Evie and Hugo and relatives in Canada and the Netherlands. Gus was predeceased by his son Adrian Paul.

Gus was a steadfast and honourable man whose devotion to his family and friends served as a model to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be greatly missed and will be carried in our hearts forever.

Gus requested that there be no funeral service and flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, memorial tributes may be made to Doctors Without Borders (www.doctorswithoutborders.ca/donate-now) per Gus’s wishes.

The family would like to thank the staff of Unit 72 and CCU at Rockyview General Hospital for their care and kindness during his brief illness.
