To the family of Thomas ... I was so sorry to read about the passing of your loved one. He sounds like an amazing person. I write because I received a note from DNA reunion that he is related to me and my brother on our paternal line ... DNA Reunion traces back common ancestry. We have a common ancestor within 53 generations. Thomas must have sent in DNA to this service and that is how we received this information. I am very happy to know that I we share a common ancestor and that he was such a phenomenal person. With deepest sympathies, Louise Rosen Byer San Francisco California

It has taken me some time to be able write this, not because I didn't want to, but because I wanted to get it right. I wanted the words I wrote to reflect how I felt about such a great young man, friend and colleague.
I met Tom in a porta cabin in Bahrain when he was doing an observation flight as he was joining the company that we both worked for at the time, 'hey man, I'm Tom', he said in his typically cool manner. We chatted for a while in the seriousness of the work environment and then 'it' happened...we said something that made us both laugh. That laughter carried on for the remainder of that day and then for the remainder of our friendship. I will always remember Tom for the joy and love that he brought to my life. His adoption of a cat in Bahrain was typical of him. That cat attacked him at any given opportunity yet he still laughed and loved it, that was typical of him...I loved him for that.
He was my rock during my tough times and I never felt that I was ever able to repay that in full during his, I just wasn't funny enough to make Tom laugh the way that he would have made me laugh if the tables had been turned.
Tom was a brilliant pilot, he loved being in the sky. He loved to feel free and often dreamed of being back on the slopes. He talked about boarding a lot but with his typical humbleness... 'yeah man, I was ok'..which I am sure would have translated into 'I was amazing'.
I miss Tom so much yet I am glad that the pain has stopped, I will always remember our good times bro...I love you man. V1...rotate!!

We did not have the honour to meet Tom personally, but with all the great stories of the Man he was, and the special brother to all, brought smiles and laughter
We hope in time your sadness and tears will bring you great memories with smiles and laughter when you say Tom.

Armed with stories and laughter to keep you up until the early hours Tom was an absolute star. Full of honest, true and heartfelt advice he is so loved and so sorely missed. There will be stories shared of his forever and they will be met with roaring laughter and warm memories. He brought so much love and companionship to his family and friends lives & a world without him will be a little less sassy and a lot less charming. He accomplished such greatness in his time and that is something to look back and smile on. All of my love and warmest hugs to you Jureks. I hope you find his spirit hiding in all the warmest nooks when you need it most.
Cheers, Tommy.
Love Brie .

Thom was a great friend to have growing up in Okotoks, and an awesome person to have known for much longer. His perpetual stoke on life to do anything, and everything, was contagious and inspirational. Always armed with a smile and enthusiasm some of the best years of my life (through junior high and high school) were spent chasing this guy around on skateboards and snowboards. Meeting his wonderful family made me feel richer as a person too! Despite growing apart over the years he was happy to chat and catch up when we could, even though it was mostly digital. I am sorrowed that I was not able to see him recently, but his memory and smile with forever be with me.
Each time I'm lucky enough to stand on a summit I'll think of you cruising around the clouds enjoying life.
Stay happy buddy - we'll meet again in the land of infinite pillow drops and face shots!
:)

Dear Thomas (tumass as we'd like to call him),
I'm so happy I got to tell you how proud I was to see all of your accomplishments and success and see you live your dream. Not everybody gets to see their dreams fulfilled and you did just that with so much hard work and perseverance. You always made me laugh so hard and I'll never forget the good times we all had during my 20's. When I look at an airplane in the sky I'll always think of you.
My sincerest condolences to Thomas' family.
Love,
Jensenne
