Obituary of Margaret Isabel Anderson
Margaret, beloved wife of Cecil Oscar Anderson of Strathmore (formerly Kathyrn), passed away on April 5, 2018 at the age of 92 years.
Margaret was born to Edith and William Edward (Ed) Johnston in the town of Rimbey, Alberta. She graduated from Calgary General Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. Following her graduation she participated in the Calgary General Alumni, meeting with her classmates monthly. Margaret was very active in her community and was a life member of the Kathyrn Ladies Community Club. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Kathyrn Curling Club and Irricana United Church. In recognition of her contributions in the community she was awarded the Alberta Centennial Medal.
Margaret is survived by her son, Bob (Joyce) and their children, Raeanne, Jaclyn (Jason Gauthier) and Kai (Michelle); son, Donald (Lori) and their children, Blaire, Zane (Katrina) and Dale (Tiffany); daughter, Joan (Eric Fossay); great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Kaden and Tyson Gauthier, Micah and Eisley Anderson, Rhett and Bobby Anderson; sister-in-law Edith Anderson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 63 years Cecil Anderson and her sister Pat Malcolm.
A Memorial Service will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
