Obituary of James Scott Philp

Jim, beloved husband of LeMoine Philp passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the age of 67 years, following a short but courageous battle with cancer.

 

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Jim graduated from Ernest Manning High School before going on to find his place with Miller Printing and later with Alcraft/Quebecor Printing. He married his true love, LeMoine, in 1974 and enjoyed many years of curling, golfing and travelling together. Golfing was a passion of Jim’s, and he spent many years on the Board of Directors of the Turner Valley Golf Club, serving as President in 1988 and 1989. In later years Jim tremendously enjoyed the warm winters and wonderful friends he and LeMoine made in Hemet California.  He was a thoughtful and kind man, always willing to help out when needed, and his wry sense of humour will be missed. 

 

Jim is survived and remembered by his wife LeMoine; his mother Patricia; brothers Greg and Doug (Cynthia); nephew Cooper; and mother-in-law Ramona Hanson.

 

He was predeceased by his father, ‘Poppa’ Jim.

 

At Jim’s request, a formal funeral service will not be held. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date.
