Obituary of Marion Isobel SUNDBERG

Marion Isobel Sundberg beloved wife of Quentin Ward Sundberg of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the age of 91 years.

Marion was a native Calgarian, which she was very proud of, as well as her Scottish heritage. Marion attended King George School then Crescent Heights, after graduating she went to business school to become a comptometer operator. She worked at the CPR Alberta Wheat Pool and the Stanolind Oil and Gas companies.

Marion was accomplished in biking, swimming, golf, badminton, tennis, snow skiing, water skiing and curling. She enjoyed macramé and sewing, not to mention she was a great cook and homemaker. She loved going to the mountains.

Marion was a long time member of the Calgary Winter Club where she was active in Badminton, tennis, curling and aqua-size. Early in her badminton career she and friend June Cecil won a Calgary Ladies Doubles Championship.

Marion and Quentin enjoyed traveling which took them to several amazing places like South Pacific, UK, Scandinavia, Mexico, Portugal, Spain and France.

She volunteered for two years at Heritage Park, she then worked for three seasons as a docent.

Sadly Marion’s later years were a struggle with worsening Dementia. Her family dearly misses her.

Marion is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Quentin; sons, Scot and Kevin.

She was predeceased by her parents, Blanche and Clarence Cameron; brother Ross Cameron; sister Aileen Craig.

Funeral Services will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.   Reception to follow at the funeral home.
