Dear Aunt Sylvia
You were always such a beautiful person to be around. Have so many great memories such as of us all going to Kenora to Great-Grandma’s and then packing as many adults and kids in a couple of cars and either head off to Anisinabe Park or Rabbit Lake. And you coming to Mom and Dad’s and you would always make your famously delicious cabbage buns and Corn Chowder!! I’m so glad I got both recipes from you long ago and whenever I make them now, I will lovingly be thinking of you and know that you are by my side helping me make them.
Loved listening to you as you were so versed on many different subjects. Had the pleasure of having a few 4 hour conversations with Auntie and I will truly treasure these forever. I know Ron really enjoyed talking with Aunt Sylvia a lot and now they can continue having many more lengthy talks in heaven.
Say ‘Hi’ to all the family in Heaven. May you Rest In Peace in God’s Home. Love you always, Aunt Sylvia
Love from your niece, Connie Spak

To Penny, Dean and Anne and families:
Our deepest condolences for your loss.
There are so many memories but here are a few to share that we would like to share of
auntie Sylvia.
First of I know mom will miss her lonnnnng conversations with her on the phone. Mom always appreciated the fine selection of clothing Auntie bought for mom. She always knew what looked good on mom.
Mom talked about that yellow convertible your mom drove in Winnipeg..The story of with that convertible, car top down, music on, that your mom FINALLY passed her driving road test in that car on a very hot summer day.
I know mom and dad were very thankful when she came to their house at a difficult time in their life to help with housekeeping and cooking and just morale support. Enjoying her cooking especially - hamburger buns and her corn chowder to name only a few.
Of course dad could never understand what she did in the washroom that took so long during her morning routine. But when she came out she was ready for the day. Whatever came her way.
At one of our visits at the hospital, she was in the washroom getting ready for bed. I told the health care aide I'd help her to bed. I knocked on the door and there she was at the sink putting in her big rollers into her hair. Something so everyday for auntie, put a smile on all of our faces.
Her door was open for visitors, ,making you feel welcomed and fed. On one of our visits, Kristen was with me ( my youngest), would join her downstairs for her meditation. She had to drive us to the airport and on the freeway she was in the right lane while cars were flying by her and honking. Her asking me to look for the airport turnoff and missing it and almost missing my flight. auntie was calm thru it all.
She was an old soul that after a conversation with her left you pondering many life questions.
We will miss your visits to Winnipeg.
Here are a few words I found for auntie.
Until that day this is so, your family misses you , more than you'll know.
Until that day, you'll be with him, your God, your Saviour.
Tears have fallen, as your heartbeat stopped, and your eyes slowly closed
God took another angel home.
Ron can hardly wait to sit down and talk with you again.
And say hi to dad for me. (it is 10 yrs today when dad was laid to rest)
All our love
Kim and Grant

Beautiful Sylvia...you were so many things to so many people in this life time...Mother, Grandmother, decorator and home maker, fearless car driver, Champion cribbage player and great true friend to Barbara are just a few things that come to mind. We will miss your beautiful smile and your laugh, your hours long phone calls and your visits tp Winnipeg. We expect you are with your other loved ones on the other side now and we will miss you forever as you will be in our hearts forever.
