Obituary of Mae Ellen HOOPER

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mae Ellen Hooper in Calgary, AB on Wednesday, June 06, 2018 at the age of 86 years.

Mae was born and raised in Petersfield, Manitoba. She was the daughter of Harold and Mabel Hermanson.  Mae will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a thoughtful, kind hearted, hard-working person who put her loved ones first. Her generosity and devotion to family and friends are her legacy. Always sociable and outgoing, she will be missed by all who knew her.

Mae is survived by her children, Wally Hooper (Suzanne Gott), Linda (Marty) Douglas , Karen (Jeff)  Bischoff , Lori Hooper (Marian Hansen); her granddaughters Megan Douglas (Jesus Jayaro) and Leah (Scott) Forbes; her great-grandchildren Eliza Forbes, Jamie Forbes and Amanda Jayaro Duque; siblings, Anna Cardy and Grace Cox; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended Manitoba family.

She was predeceased by her husband and soulmate of 63 years Edd Hooper;  her youngest daughter Tracey Hooper; siblings, Thomas Hermanson, Buck Hermanson, Mildred Lynds and  Winnie Carson.

At Mae’s request, a private family farewell will be held.
