So sad to hear of Sandy's passing. I worked with Sandy for 15 years. He was responsible for my move to Calgary in 1981. He was a great mentor a good friend , an all round good guy.
Of all the many attributes that Sandy had one of the most memorable is that he was a very kind man. Always made time to listen to people help people make decisions have a laugh or listen to their problems.
He was always busy , counting beans , helping out Lois at micro mac sweeping the floor at IG , driving around new housing projects to see how many roofs had IKO and how many had the other guys hoisted on them .Marching around the plant in double time with Albert. Hitailing it down the road to Roofmart. Plus raising 4 children picking them up somewhere dealing with their car crashes or making the bbq sizzle.
It was exhausting keeping up with him !
These are some of the things that made Sandy a great mentor.
Just a darn good guy.
Thank you Sandy
Chris Jones

My condolences to Sandy's family. I had the pleasure of spending many hours with Sandy over the years when I was a regular visitor to Calgary. His loyalty, dedication and enthusiasm were always an inspiration to me as to many others at IKO.
As the years passed, the frequency of my visits declined, but no trip to Calgary was complete without spending time with "Mr Mac".
Our family also has happy memories of an enjoyable day in Florida with Sandy acting as a tour guide to his local area. He was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic, which will of course come as no surprise to all those who knew him.

I only knew Sandy for about 20 years. He was very influential in my Business and Personal life. His infectious sense of humour and treasured observations of life and family were always prevalent in our discussions. I spoke with him about 3 weeks ago. While our conversation was somewhat short, he promised to call me back in "a couple of weeks". Well, I guess he will catch up to me, in the future.
It will be worth the wait.
Take Care, Sandy
Sincerely
Jim

I am another of the many IKO employees who enjoyed Sandy's mentorship. He made a tremendous contribution to my personal and professional growth and I have fond memories of those days. His combination of wisdom and sense of humour will definitely be missed. I am sorry that I cannot attend the memorial service but extend my condolences to his children and grandchildren.

My very first day of employment in this country was with IKO Industries Ltd, and my boss for 23 years was Sandy. He welcomed me into the Company and mentored me along for all those years, helped instilled in me the need for dedication, hard work and loyalty. If nothing else, I will always remember him as a principled Manager and teacher. To all the Children and Grand Children, please know that I share your loss and may he find Eternal Rest. Remember he is not dead he has just gone away. His Life's journey has just begun.
