Obituary of Chantel Kour SHESHKA

Chantel Sheshka’s journey began on October 23, 1981 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She grew up with her two sisters Jasmine and Amber. The three were inseparable and were best friends from childhood through to their adult years (the “Sheshka Girls”). Chantel would say her mother Pat was the best mom and appreciated everything she would do for her. She was predeceased by her father, Randy, in 2006 and Chantel would always have a good laugh when remembering her dad. Chantel found happiness during her last year with her boyfriend Bobby. She admired his patience and he brought many smiles to her face.

Chantel grew up in Winnipeg and moved out to Vancouver as a young woman in 2006, where she began her career with Scotia Bank. In 2011, Chantel moved to Calgary where she continued to work with Scotia Bank as an associate private banker. Chantel developed many friendships along the way, as she was very personable and sociable. She was always up for a good time and looked forward to all types of get-togethers, especially if they involved karaoke!

Chantel loved to take trips with her family, friends and boyfriend Bobby. Creating new memories was important to her, especially during her last few years. She loved relaxing in her comfy bed watching her shows and would never turn down a good pizza.

Chantel would always put family first and was the best aunty to Aidyn, Benjamin, Ava and Harrison. She would always make sure the little ones had clean faces and no boogers in their noses! Chantel was a great sister-in-law to Jay and Casey, providing gift ideas for her sisters and siding with them when her sisters were being unreasonable.

Chantel would take a long time to get ready, but was well worth the wait! She will be remembered for being a beautiful person, inside and out. She was strong and independent. Chantel had a kind heart to many and was very thoughtful. Chantel was always there to listen and had many conversations that went late into the night - her support and perspective will be missed.

When she was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2015, she faced it with courage and was determined to beat it. She wanted to live, and she made herself a living miracle for as long as her body and her will were capable. She amazed us all! With family by her side, she peacefully passed away on July 3, 2018. A private memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers or donations, top up your travel fund and take a trip, as Chantel would want this!

God saw you getting tired

A cure was not to be.

So he put his arms around you

And whispered, “come with me.”

With tearful eyes we watched you

And saw you fade away.

Although we loved you dearly

We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating

Your tender hands at rest.

God took you home to prove to us

He only takes the best.
