Obituary of Marion HONEY

Please share a memory of Marion to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marion Honey passed away peacefully at the Monterey Place Retirement Home on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the age of 90. At the age of four Marion moved with her family to Rosedale, Alberta. She attended Normal School and began her teaching career in a one room school house in Michichi, Alberta. She then taught for many years in Calgary. Marion was an active member of Parkdale United Church and Parkdale Community Association. Mom was a warm, kind, loving person with a great sense of humour. She will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched. Marion is survived by her sons James (Donna) and Cameron (Deb); granddaughter Lauren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Gilbert and her three sisters Janette Gibson, Margaret Winship and Isabelle Caverhill. Miss Me, But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road, And the sun has set for me; I want no rites in a gloom-filled room, Why cry for a soul set free. Miss me a little, but not too long, And not with your head bowed low; Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take, And each must go alone; It’s all a part of the master’s plan, A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart, Go to the friends we know; And busy your sorrows in doing good deeds, Miss me but let me go. As per her wishes, there will be a private family internment.
