I have just learned Scotty's death today. I have joined Facebook with 212 Tel op group and saw is name asking help to find Gus Macdonald in 2016.
I remember Scotty with his family last visit in Montreal. We had dinner downtown and spend all night talking.
Laurie, I offer you my condolences to you and to your daughter Chantal

Dear family,
I had worked with Scotty for a number of years at AHS. I always found Scotty to be a cheerful up beat "excitable" man ! We had connected on Facebook years after he retired and we shared lots of back and forwards.
I would post lots of posts of these micro home made of C-cans. He more than once replied with capital letters saying" Those C-cans have no right to be used in this country dues to disease and infection that could have come of them."
He once told me of this truck he had bought. He bought it used from a lady where I believe her husband had passed away. All he could say was " I stole that truck!" Yes he stole that truck as the lady didn't know what she had sold him. He was so happy for the purchase. Jumping up and down.
We used to play fun pranks at work from time to time among our colleagues. He had left his cell phone somewhere in an IT Room one time and I can across it. I thought I would see him the next day I could do a kind favor and get it back to him. I left a message on his voicemail saying, "Scotty I have your cell phone and I am never giving it back ! (in this growly voice)" and hung up. Well the excitable man called the cops and everything ! Pretty funny at the time.
On a serious note, I am sure he will be missed and I am very sorry for the family's loss.
Sincerely,
Douglas Drummond

Dear Lauren and Chantal,
We both have very fond memories of Scotty as a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer with the Calgary Stampede Visiting Bands Committee. He could always be counted upon to add a cheerful note to whatever came his way whether in the office or marching the parade.
We hope your memories of all the good times will bring you comfort in you loss.
Sincerely,
Carol and Harold
