Obituary of Nora NELSON

Nora Mae Nelson, beloved wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, January 20, 2014 in Calgary at the age of 95 years. Nora was born in Sedgewick, AB, one of thirteen children. Nora’s life was lovingly dedicated to her husband and family enjoying many wonderful milestones with Nez, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren while visiting, camping, cross-country skiing, hiking and in her younger years hockey. . . a goalie. Nora’s great passion in later years was her tap-dancing. She belonged to the Calgary Golden Girls for many years. Nora will be remembered as a kind, giving and loving person who will be greatly missed by all of her family and those who had the pleasure of crossing paths with Nora on her journey of life. Nora is survived by her children, Sandra (Jim) Santa Lucia, Norman (Shirley) Nelson, Kelly (Dave) Lillico and Guy (Laurie) Nelson; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. Nora was predeceased by her loving husband, Nez Nelson; her sweet daughter; Barbara, and eleven brothers and sisters. As requested by Nora, a memorial service will not be held.
