I just wanted to add some thoughts and memories just from me. I spent a lot of time at the Baillies because Brian and I were and still are best friends. Bill was a great family man and always had time for his kids. From the standing on the side of a hill at a ski race in the freezing cold for hours to driving us back and forth from the ski hill. When Bill drove us home from the farther away ski hills like Fortress and Norquay we would all fall asleep and poor Bill would be left alone driving. He was a very good sport about that and never complained. Bill also coached Brian and I when we were young boys in soccer at Triwood and taught us how to love the sport. Brian and I went on to play soccer for several years and coached Blizzards with our friend Mark O'rourke. Bill was also very involved with Brian and I with cubs and Scouts where he taught us about being responsible young men.
As the dad of my best friend Bill was like a second dad to me. He was a very honest and sincere man and a great family man and I will remember him fondly for that. My sincerest sympathy goes out to all the Baillie family but especially Dorthy who this has to be especially hard for, and my best friend Brian who has had to remain strong though all this for his family's sake.
I will miss Bill and he will be forever in my memories,

Baillie family:
Our sincerest condolences on the loss of Bill. I remember Bill being very involved in my ski racing days with driving us to the ski hills, and working at races.he also coached me and Brian in soccer.

Baillie family,
Our sincerest condolences in the loss of Bill. I have fond memories of ski trips and my racing days with Brian where Bill would always be driving us or working the race. Bill also coached me and Brian in soccer.

My thoughts and love are with Dorothy, Brian and Joanne, Kathy, Scott and Sharla and all the Grandchildren. We have shared lives for many years, Bill always welcomed us when we 'travelled west', and he was our personal tour guide as he showed us Banff, Lake Louise, skiing hills, and even a picnic by a small lake, telling stories of each beautiful, scenic place. He loved and shared these with us. . .and our February 1988 visit for the Olympics is one we never will forget as Bill made sure we 'saw everything '. Wishing you comfort and courage as you face these so-very-difficult times.

Aunt Dorothy, Brian, Kathy and Scott,
Paul, Rachel, Hannah and I send warm hugs to you all. I can definitely say we have all had great memories of Uncle Bill. Not only was he the man that taught me to ski, but he sat in the stands when both my girls played national volleyball and cheered them on. I don't think he missed a single game when we were in Calgary. He shared in the victories as well as the defeats. I will always remember the endearing talk Uncle Bill gave to Rachel after a hard loss. He spoke much like my own dad would have if he would have been there. His words were so well thought of and had an impact on her. He also spent time with Hannah on the highs and lows of the game, always so very supporting to her. The girls loved having him in the stands cheering them on. Both Uncle Bill and Aunt Dot were so very welcoming to me and my family every time we made it to Calgary. They opened their home to us and spent some long days at the gym. He has a very special place in my heart. Please take care of each other over this difficult time.

My memories of Bill will always be his kindness to me. He was such a brilliant and smart man and never made you feel inferior in any way. I'd like to thank him for all the happiness he brought Dorothy and for being such a dedicated and loving father to Brian, Kathy and Scott., and he treasured his grandchildren so much. I now have another loved one to intercede for me when I need something special. Thank you Bill for being a very special brother-in-law.

The Baillies were a second family to me growing up so Bill was a father figure in my life. I was 15 when my mother passed and Bill and Dorothy basically took me in and made me feel welcome in their home. They were a huge influence on me in my adolescent years and I don’t know how I would have survived without them. Bill was smart, caring, and funny. We had lots of laughs. I can picture him now telling a humorous story with a big smile on his face. He was also one of the most sincere people I’ve ever met and was always ready with sage advice when I needed it. My wife Linda and I will miss him dearly and pass along our deepest condolences to Dorothy and the rest of the clan.
