My condolences to all the family and friends of Ellen - a lovely woman.
My dad, Charles Wood, and Danny worked together in Italy from 1964 to 1969. In 1966 I visited my family in Novara. Coming from Canada at that time, Italy was a revelation. Danny and Ellen had very much embraced Italian culture and cuisine, and I remember that Ellen introduced me to the love of my life, prosciutto.
Ellen and Danny were always kind to my mum, especially when my parents were going through marital difficulties.
My parents ended up living in England, but whenever they visited me in Ottawa, Ellen and Danny would always invite us over for one of Ellen's beautiful meals.
Ellen will be well remembered and missed.
