Obituary of Jean Elizabeth SEGER

Jean Elizabeth Seger, (nee Harvie) of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the age of 91 after a lengthy illness.

Jean was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved art and was a creative artist throughout her life. Claude’s career as an engineer took them to many places in Canada, Brazil and the United States and Jean created a warm welcoming home in every community they lived in and made friends in each new place. Following Claude’s death in 2002 she moved to Calgary to be with her family.

Jean is survived by her daughter Christina Seger, son-in-law Erik DeWiel; grandchildren Sean DeWiel, Joel DeWiel and Melissa Seger; great grandson Maverick DeWiel; sister-in-law Ann Harvie and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years Claude Seger; son Richard Seger; grandson Nathan Seger and brother David Harvie.

A private family celebration of Jean’s life will be held in Ontario in the spring. Jean and Claude will be interred at Doan’s Ridge in Welland County, Ontario.

The family is grateful for the excellent care Jean received at McKenzie Towne Retirement Residence from 2012 to 2019.
