I shall always have fond memories of Mr. Jacobson's world history classes that I was fortunate to have attended at Sir Winston Churchill High in the early 1980s. He was a brilliant and inspirational lecturer who made history compelling and relevant to an adolescent student body--no easy task. Mr. Jacobson was also unfailingly kind and supportive in his contact with me. I was always impressed by his willingness to spend considerable time chatting with his students after class. Although he never concealed his leftist political inclinations, he also never sought to impose them on people. He was always willing to listen to his students, no matter how difficult they could be. As a teacher myself, I owe an incalculable debt to the stellar example that Mr. Jacobson exhibited in the classroom. All best wishes to his family.
