Obituary of Betty McGrandle

The family of Betty McGrandle wishes to announce that she passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta one month before her 95th birthday.
Betty Herks married Jack Voskuyl in 1946 in Dordrecht, Holland. They immigrated to Canada in 1957 with four children; John (Cheri), Anna (Pete), Sonja (Wayne), Carol (Dave), and had one more child, Terry, who was born in Canada. Jack passed away in 1973. Betty found love again and married Jack McGrandle in 1986 and he passed away in 1988.
Family was the most important part of Betty’s life. As well as her children, she leaves behind eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street NW, (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
Betty’s wish was to be cremated and her urn placed with Jack Voskuyl in Queen’s Park Cemetery. A private family ceremony will take place in September 2019.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to a charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank the staff at Auburn Heights Retirement Residence for looking after our Mom for the past two years and especially those who were with her 24/7 during her last few days. Your love and caring will not be forgotten.
