Obituary of William ROBERTS

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
After 90 years of family, love, and inspiring change, Dr. William Glyndwr Roberts passed away peacefully at his Calgary home, surrounded by his family. Born in Fort Saskatchewan, AB, Glyn resided in Edmonton and Toronto before settling in Calgary. He will be remembered for his legacy of leadership, dedication and service to others. Glyn was a veteran of WWII and passionate about public education. He served as a teacher, President of the Edmonton Local ATA, and professor at the Universities of Toronto and Calgary. Glyn’s love for Miriam, his wife of sixty-five years, inspired us all. His compassion, wisdom, and lessons of life will continue through his three daughters, Pati (Neil), Jane, Glynis, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As per Dad’s wishes, a private Memorial will be held at a later date. Glyn and Miriam will be laid to rest, in eternal love, in Tofield, Alberta. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Karen Siegel, Alberta Health Services Palliative Care, and the many family and friends that showed their love and support. Memorial donations may be made directly to the Alberta Alzheimer Society at www.forgetmenothike.ca or the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada at www.ccfc.ca
