Obituary of Francis Leon Walker
Francis Walker, beloved husband of Nikki Coles of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at the age of 69 years after a brave and courageous battle with cancer.
Francis was born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada on June 15, 1950.
He joined the Canadian Armed Forces and was stationed in many different countries around the world until his retirement from the Military.
After retirement Frank went on to receive his teaching degree from the University of Alberta. He taught at many different schools before receiving a permanent position at Jack James High School in Calgary where he remained until his retirement.
Frank had a real love and passion for many things, the one he will be most remembered for is his love of cooking. Anyone fortunate enough to enjoy one of his meals will remember the love and creativity he put into his food. Although he rarely sat with us to enjoy them, he loved to stand at the counter and eat his meal so he could watch everyone enjoying their food.
Frank was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and enjoyed fishing, reading (especially history books) and yelling at the TV at his favourite sports teams.
Besides his living wife, Frank is remembered by his two beloved daughters, Shari Walker (James) of Red Deer, AB, Kelly McKenzie (Allan) of Evansberg, AB; two beloved sons, Drew Coles and Thomas Coles of Calgary, AB; three grandsons, Dylan Stavely, Donavan Myshak and Dalton McKenzie; two granddaughters, Nikki Stavely and Kayla Stavely, as well as three great-grandchildren, Greyson, Georgie, and Payton. Frank will also be remembered by his cherished friends, Marcie and John Oberholtzer of Calgary, AB and his adored companion Kali, as well as many other friends.
Frank is also remembered by his loving brother Donnie (Dorothy) Walker, sister Judy (Bruce) Hubert, sister-in-law Pauline Walker of Guelph Ontario, as well as his nephews, Chris Walker, Jaimie Walker, and Shawn Hebert; nieces, Dawn Marie Moore and Tammy Longe.
Frank was predeceased by his beloved parents, Carl and Henrietta Walker; brother Keith Walker, niece Terri Lynn Walker, mother-in-law Ethel Eroshinski and his first wife Marlene Walker.
