Dear Cynthia, Layla and Matias,
My deepest sympathy to all of you on the loss of your dear husband and father. My heart broke when I heard this incredibly sad news from my Collingwood family. I so wish I could have been there on Friday as you honoured Horacio's life. Sra. Beare showed me pictures of the beautifully painted casket that were posted online - what a special and unique way to wrap your love around him. Please know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers often and there will be very big hugs waiting for you the next time our paths cross.

I am deeply saddened by Horatio's passing, as I was just getting to know him and his family. We had a mutual interest in Amateur Radio, and both liked to innovate. In him I found a kindred spirit, and was looking forward to collaborating in the future. I found him not only to be very likable, but also brilliant in the scope of his knowledge in everything he did.
He will be sadly missed by all.

Kind, smart, inquisitive. We shared so many conversations beyond work together, back then in the "San Felipe" office. It was always something special to carry those conversations in Spanish and his office had a very special personal arrangement. I remember when I was 10-15 years old my father and I had gone to a soccer tournament in Corpus Christi. We were staying in a hotel and in the middle of the night someone pulls the fire alarm in the hotel. I remember him shaking me awake in a panic. ‘C’mon, we gotta get outta here!’ So we run as fast as we could out of the hotel half asleep to the outside parking lot. As we’re looking around at the other people we suddenly realized that we we’re in our underwear! OMG!
Recuerdo que cuando tenía 10-15 años, mi padre y yo fuimos a un torneo de fútbol en Corpus Christi. Nos estábamos quedando en un hotel y en medio de la noche alguien activa la alarma de incendio en el hotel. Lo recuerdo sacudiéndome despierto en pánico. "¡Vamos, tenemos que salir de aquí!" Así que corremos tan rápido como pudimos fuera del hotel medio dormidos hacia el estacionamiento exterior. ¡Mientras miramos a las otras personas de repente nos dimos cuenta de que estamos en ropa interior! ¡DIOS MIO!
