Obituary of Allan Malcolm Winchester

Allan Winchester, beloved husband of Mary Winchester (nee McCabe) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the age of 96 years.

 

Allan graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor Degree in Education. He taught school and was a principal in various schools within Calgary for many years.

 

Allan had a passion for wood working. He loved creating beautiful furniture.

 

Allan is survived by his loving wife Mary of 70 years; devoted father to Nancy (Rick); his siblings Alice and Neil as well as numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.

 

Allan was predeceased by his parents Allan and Mary, his son Neil and his brother George.

 

A Memorial Service will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street NW, (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home in the hospitality Centre.  

 

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to a charity of ones choice.

 

The family would like to thank the staff at South Health Campus, Rockyview Hospital, Unit 57 and Sarcee Hospice for their support during this difficult time.
