Obituary of Savitri Lal

Savitri Lal beloved wife of the Late Mansukh Lal of Calgary, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the age of 86 years.

Savitri graduated from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology with a certificate as a Journeyman Cook. She accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her family, including her grandkids and great-grandkids. As the matriarch, her passion was to nurture her family through her cooking.

She served in various capacities at the Calgary Metropolitan Foundation for 27 years. She will be most remembered for her generosity and support of new Canadians in her 47 years in Canada.

Savitri is survived by her three children Tarla, Labh (Pravin) and Nanda (Jayant); four grandchildren Dina (Phil), Preetika (Craig), Upesh (Judy) and Jason (Angela); eight great-grandchildren Kamay, Sean, Ryder, Arjay, Ashton, Aaryn, Dominic and Aria.

Savitri was predeceased by her loving husband Mansukh Lal.

Funeral Services will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4^th Street NW, (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
