Obituary of Murray VAUTOUR

Please share a memory of Murray to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Murray Robert Vautour of Calgary passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the age of 52 years. Murray was born March 18, 1961 in Campbellton, NB. He was the much loved son of Dawn (Irvine) and Dennis Vautour, and brother to Robert, Clay (Charmaine), Isabel (Karl) and Jeanie (Michael). He graduated from Dalhousie Regional High School in NB, and the Devry Institute of Technology in Toronto. He was deeply loved and is sorely missed. His nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends loved him too. Murray was married to Leanne (Perlini). If ever there was a couple so suited to each other it was them. They laughed together, shared their hopes and dreams, and depended on each other. In an age where relationships are often hard to sustain, this was never the case for them. Murray loved Leanne deeply and she loved him. They respected and cherished each other. We are so thankful for the time we had with him. It feels all too short. The blessings of this time, the memories and the hope it fostered will help us through the difficult days ahead. There are so many ways in which Murray shared himself with us, and others. He was a community activist and worked diligently to make life better for the marginalized and common citizens. The Alberta Government recognized his hard work and commitment, awarding him the ‘Centennial Medal” in 2006. Murray loved life. His laughter, good humour and integrity made our lives richer and we find it hard to say goodbye. Our memories remain in our hearts along with the knowledge that we are better people for having had time with him. A Celebration of Life will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
