Obituary of Cornelis EVERTS

Frank Everts (Opa) passed away peacefully on February 17th, 2014, a month shy of his 98th birthday, at the Beverly Center Glenmore where he spent the last six months of his life. Frank loved to visit and entertain everyone with many stories about his life growing up in the Netherlands, the war, his time in the Ecuadorian jungle and coming to Canada. He enjoyed spending time reading, working on his stamp collection, gardening and spending time with his loved ones at his favorite place on earth – his cabin in the mountains. Frank lived a wonderful life and as he had wished for some time, has finally been reunited with the love of his life, his darling Sietske. Frank is survived by his only daughter Sietske Catharina Everts and special son-in-law Stan Carver; three bonus granddaughters Deborah Carver of Calgary, Lyla (Marty) Skog of Red Deer, and Brenda (Vernon) Walker of Victoria, B.C.; his special and dearly missed granddaughter Tania Paskevich; and one much loved great-granddaughter Madisen Walker. He was predeceased by his parents Marinus and Jacoba, his sister Rie and brother Joop, all of the Netherlands; his only son Frank Jr. in 1979; and by the love of his life, his wife Sietske (Oma) in 2001. Frank will be missed by all his family and extended family in Canada and The Netherlands; his many friends including the wonderful, caring staff at the Beverley Centre Glenmore; neighbors and staff at the Colonel Belcher Senior Residence; and members of the Elderstar (Texaco) Retirees Club. A Celebration of Frank’s Life will be held at a later date. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
