Obituary of Elizabeth Anne Croft
Elizabeth "Nicki" Croft passed away peacefully at Bow View Manor, Calgary, Alberta on Saturday morning, May 23, 2020 at the age of 86.
While raising the youngest of her five children, Nicki returned to the academic world, earned her second degree, and began teaching high school English and ESOL. She was very active in her church community, bible study, choir, book clubs, gardening, and volunteering. She supported the annual Parry Sound Music Festival, played piano and sang songs for many elderly facilities.
Nicki is survived by her eldest daughter, Karen Caskey (James); she was the beloved grandmother of Christina Caskey, Jennie Caskey, Eirelyn Croft, Heather Croft, and Mahni Bruce; Elizabeth (Aunt Nicki) was also the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews, and their children; and her brothers, William Bastedo (the late Bette), Parry Sound, ON., and John Bastedo (Gwen), Cobble Hill, B.C.
Nicki was the cherished wife of the late Fred Kraav, and her first husband, the late Leonard Croft; predeceased by her four youngest children, Kim Croft, Sheila Croft (Ken), Neil Croft, and Lincoln Croft; brothers, George Bastedo (Virginia), Edgar Bastedo (Pat), Catherine Cameron (Alan), and Juana Bastedo.
Nicki passed away as she lived her entire life – with grace, dignity, respect and kindness.
Burial will take place at Farringdon Burial Grounds, Brantford, Ontario, at a later date.
