Obituary of Lucile Doris Provost

Lucile Provost beloved wife of the Late Roy Provost of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the age of 90 years.

 

Lucile was born in Vegreville, AB on July 16, 1929.  She moved to Calgary after marrying Roy in Edmonton on June 30, 1951.

 

Lucile graduated from the Misericordia Hospital nursing school winning the medal for Nursing Technique. She became a Registered Nurse in 1950.  She worked as a nurse at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary for a time and then took a break to be a stay-at-home mom. In 1964 Lou began an administrative career with the Calgary Associate Clinic and progressed to senior management. Finally she worked for a Calgary Health Region clinic until she retired.

 

Lou and Roy were members of the Royal Canadian Kensington Legion 264 and founding members of the Triwood Community Association. They participated in many Triwood activities over 60+ years they lived in the community.

 

Lucile accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of her family and of being a nurse.

 

Lucile was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.  She was an avid reader, interested in people and politics, loved music, and enjoyed dancing. Her most memorable vacation was a bus tour of the UK and while in Scotland, Lou and Roy were voted to be the bride and groom for a mock wedding in the famous Gretna Green Blacksmiths Shop wedding chapel.

 

Lucile is survived by her daughter Carol Provost, daughter-in -law Diana Provost and grandson James Provost all of Calgary

 

Lucile was predeceased by her husband Roy, daughter Kim and son Rob, brothers Willis Kaye and Ross Bailey.
