Obituary of Jordan Melbourne Boone
Jordan Boone, beloved husband of Lillian Boone of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 3, 2020 at the age of 87 years.
Jerry was born in North River, Newfoundland on July 8, 1933.
He was the youngest Post Master General for the province of Newfoundland at age 18. He then moved and worked at Harmon Airforce Base as Hotel management. Jerry graduated from the Holiday Inn University in Memphis, with a degree in Hotel Management and then for the rest of his career he worked for the Holiday Inn.
Jerry married the love of his life Lillian in 1958. Jerry accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jerry loved to drive and would make sure to find a way to stop for ice-cream. Jerry’s most memorable vacation was when he and Lillian travel to Greece and they have many good adventures with family across Canada and United States. Jerry’s favourite hymn was How Great Thou Art. He will be most remembered for his kindness and his charismatic ability and he was always able to strike up a conversation with anyone who would listen.
Besides his loving wife Lillian, Jerry is survived by his children Paula (Clarence) and Scott (Marjorie); his seven grandchildren, Pauline (Miles), Craig (Keith), Nicole (Christian), Justin, Virginia, Davis and Ty; his six great-grandchildren, Kaliyah, Ava, Myla, Hudson, Lincoln and Carmin; as well as numerous cherished nieces, nephews, and close knit friends.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents, siblings and the last of a great line.
A great man has gotten his wings his mind and soul is free, and there is probably a line up at the Pearly Gates right now.
“No Sweat” - Jerry
