Obituary of Leslie RUSSELL

Les Russell passed away peacefully on March 19, 2014 at the age of 94 years. He was born in Calgary where he lived and worked all his life. During World War II he served in the Canadian Postal Corps. Les had over 30 years of experience in various technical, material control and purchasing phases of the Western Canadian oil industry, with particular emphasis on oil and gas production equipment. He was one of the “Old Oil Boys” holding positions in Anglo-Canadian Oil, Canadian Oil, White Rose, Shell Oil and Eagle Resources. He was a Legion member for 54 years at #264 and recently at #284. Les is survived by his son Dennis (Shelley), daughter Leslie and granddaughter Lisa (Trevor) Petr and great-granddaughters Renee and Chelsey and Genevieve Marshall and great-grandson Rodney Marshall. He was predeceased by his dear wife Dorothy in 1983 and his granddaughter Natasha in 2011. As per his wishes, no funeral service will be held. His ashes will be interred in the Field of Honour Columbarium at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
