Howard was a gentle man, with kind and generous ways. He was truly loved by family and friends, luckily we were able to know Howard in 2 areas, in his winter vacation home, in Mesa, Arizona and his home, in Calgary. New to the Snowbird world he befriended, neighbours and community members alike. He was famous for his BBQ’d steaks, his forthright opinions, at our fabulous potluck curling bonspiel finals and football playoffs, hosted by the Wilson’s and Blain’s in Arizona. He participated in our weekly Sat. Morning Coffees at the Hall, and the sat night Potlucks. Howard had the patience of Job, he tolerated the bridge nights when, it was Anita’s turn to host, as well as intimate dinner with groups of 5-9-or 13, when everyone played Bridge afterwards except Howard. He loved the choir Concerts, led by Karyl Carstensen and later Brent Blake. He loved Sunday morning in Mesa were he never missed a Sunday at church with the Group. Howard was a man of strength, of determination, a devoted and loyal Husband to his “Neetie”. He will be missed by all his family and friends. His, was a life well lived with few regrets. Well done good and faithful servant. Rest In Peace. Above is one of the pictures of the Mesa curling fans watching the Briar at the Wilson’s, picture provided by Norm Blain.
