Obituary of Christopher Craig Coughlan
Christopher Coughlan(CD), beloved husband of Carol Coughlan (nee Black) of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the age of 76 years.
Chris was born in Crayford Kent, England on March 4, 1944, but was raised in London, Ontario.
Chris spent 29 years with the Canadian Armed Forces and 3 years with Federal Public Service. During his time of Service, he received the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal and Medals for Peacekeeping in Cyprus (where he completed 2 tours) and in the Middle East (where he completed 2 tours). He also earned the Canadian Forces Decoration (CD) with Clasp. After 29 years of service, Chris retired as a Sergeant.
Chris married Carol in May 18, 1968.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and volunteered with several minor hockey organizations.
Chris accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his children and grandchildren.
Chris was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, hockey and camping.
Besides his loving wife Carol, Chris is survived by his sons, Neil Craig Coughlan (Janis) and Craig Allen Coughlan (Anne); as well as his grandchildren, Myles, Silas and Riley.
Chris is also survived by his two brothers and one sister-in-law, Michael (Christine), and Patrick; six sisters and five brothers-in-law, Carol (Ron), Margaret, Susan (Brad), Mary (Larry), Barbara (John), Sheelah (Joe); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Christopher was predeceased by his father Craig and his mother Sheelah.
A celebration of life for Chris will be held at a future date.
