Obituary of Winona June Bilkoski

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Winona June Bilkoski on January 4th, 2021 at the age of 87.

 

June was born in Brandon MB in 1933, the only child of William and Mary Young. 

 

She briefly attended Balmoral Hall School before she met and married her husband John in 1951.  In 1971 the family moved to Calgary where they eventually started a successful jewelry business.

 

After the early passing of her husband John in 1983, she continued to move on by staying active in their jewelry business (JB Jewelers Ltd) until her retirement at the age of 72.

 

She enjoyed reading, fishing but above all had a fondness for travel including adventures to Mexico, Australia, Bali, New Zealand and Papaya New Guinea.  For over two decades she enjoyed spending summer vacations at Kootenay Lake.

 

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Tannis (Ian), Michael, Marshall (Karen), four grandchildren (Taylor, AJ, Aaron, Kathryn) and six great grandchildren.

 

 

 

A private family service will be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
