Obituary of Jasbir Singh ARORA

Jasbir “Bill” Singh Arora of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the age of 74 years. 

 

Jasbir was born in Rawalpindi, India on November 11, 1946 to Sanmukh and Sawarn Arora.

 

He immigrated to Toronto, Canada where he started his loving family and then moved to Calgary in 1978. He was a hardworking and dedicated employee at CP rail for over 25 years, and his successful career allowed him to enjoy early retirement in 2003 and spend more time with his grandkids.

 

Jasbir enjoyed spending his time with his loved ones. He loved Sunday morning breakfast and playing cards with friends, driving his grandchildren to and from school and watching sports with friends and family. He enjoyed classic Hindi songs, watching Bollywood movies and also busting out the occasional dance move. Jasbir always tried to put a smile on everyone’s face, and was loved by many in the community.

 

Jasbir will be remembered for his free-spirited nature, fierce loyalty and selflessness.

 

Jasbir’s big heart made him a generous father to his son Inder “Bobby’ Arora, son Amit Arora and his daughter-in-laws Neeru Arora and Jeanine Youde Arora. He was a funny, compassionate and supportive Baba to Anjali Arora, Aamani Arora, Ajay Arora and Laya Youde Arora. Jasbir was also a kind brother to sister Amarjit Khanna, and a caring uncle to niece Ruchika Khanna and nephew-in-law Martin Singer, niece Shalina Khanna and nephew-in-law Jonathan Hunt and great-niece and nephew Raiyan Khanna and Esher Khanna.

 

Jasbir was predeceased by his parents Sawarn and Sanmukh Arora, brother Daljit Singh Arora and brother-in-law Kamal Khanna.

 

A Langar will be held at the Dashmesh Culture Centre on March 31, 2021 in honour of Jasbir Singh Arora.
