Obituary of Kevin Robert MONKS

Kevin Monks passed away on Tuesday February 23, 2021 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada at the age of 72 years old.

 

Kevin was born in Bristol, UK on May 20, 1948. He was married to Carol Monks on August 1, 1970. Together they moved to Guelph, Ontario, Canada in 1975, then on to Calgary, Alberta in 1976.

 

Both Kevin and   Carol worked at the University of Calgary for 32 years until retiring in 2008. Kevin spent the majority of his career in the printing department until ending the final two years in IT.

 

Kevin and Carol’s most enjoyed activity would be travelling especially taking cruise vacations. They visited the Caribbean three different times as well as Alaska once. Another couple favorite destinations of theirs was visiting Las Vegas and Hawaii together.

 

While growing up in the UK he was a very big soccer (football) fan but quickly became to enjoy hockey once arriving in Canada and cheering on the Calgary Flames.

 

Kevin is survived by his wife Carol; sons Steve and Chris; grandson Anthony.

 

His outgoing personality and amazing sense of humour will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
