Obituary of Lang Anh QUAN

Lang Anh Quan of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the age of 88 years.

 

Lang was born in Nanhai, Guangdong, China on October 24, 1932. She immigrated to Vietnam when she was a young child, married Chuong Chi Quan in 1958 at the age of 26, gave birth to five sons and daughters, and immigrated to Canada in 1982 at the age of 50.

 

Lang Quan was a loving mother and a successful business woman. Prior to immigration to Canada, she ran a small retail bakery supply shop with her husband. They both worked hard seven days a week to provide for their five children and send them to good school to be educated. After immigration to Canada, she stayed home to care for her family and help in the care of her grandchildren.  

 

In her spare time, Lang enjoyed the Chinese game of mahjong with her beloved friends in Calgary Chinese Senior Centre, and in neighborhood friends’ homes.

 

In February 2021, Lang suffered from heart failure and passed away on April 14.

 

Lang is survived by the following immediate family:

 

Hue Anh Tran (daughter), Yen Tran and Scott Richardson (granddaughter and grandson-in-law), Howard Tran (grandson), and Vanessa Tran and Mario Gorge (granddaughter & grandson-in-law);

 

Kien Quan and Carol Quan (son and daughter-in-law), Johnathan Quan (grandson), David Quan (grandson), and Brian Quan (grandson); Bac Quan (son); To Nu Quan (daughter); Nghe Quan and Jenny Yang (son and daughter-in-law), Winston Quan (grandson).

 

Lang is also survived by her brother Cam Hanh Minh and his family in Hong Kong, and by her brother Vien Minh and his family in LA, California, USA.

 

 

A Private Funeral Service will be held, on Thursday, April 22 at 9:00 am. Family and friends are invited to join Mrs. Quan’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
