Obituary of Fung Ming WONG
Fung Ming Wong, beloved wife of the late Ying Pong Wong of Calgary, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 at the age of 100 years.
Fung was born in China on October 24, 1920. She moved to Hong Kong in 1957 and immigrated to Canada in 1971.
Fung was an exceptional wife, a gentle, loving, and caring mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to her family and often talked about how much she missed her grandchildren.
Fung will be lovingly remembered by her son Michael (Mary) and daughter Judy (Frank) Der; nine grandchildren, Kelly (Shirley) Poon, Gina (Allan) Liao, Wesley (Christie) Poon, Jenny (Henry) Pon, David (Delça) Wong, Nicholas Wong, Amanda Der, Jason Der, and Ryan Der; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan and Teagen Poon, Joshua and Matthew Liao, Emma and Ethan Poon, and Owen and Taylor Pon.
Fung was predeceased by her daughter Yuk Kuen (Chiu Gim) Poon.
A Private Visitation will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street NW, (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, June 03, 2021 between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. A Private Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
