POTTS, Evelyn (nee Kline)

January 28, 1924 – Big Valley, Alberta

June 29, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

With dignity and courage, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Evelyn Potts (nee Kline) peacefully surrendered her spirit on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the age of 97 years.

Having grown up through the depression, Evelyn, like her siblings, Winard, Jack, Mary and Donald, developed tremendous tenacity and strength of will. Evelyn’s work ethic was second to none. She worked hard through much adversity to keep the household running smooth, and through it all, had a big smile. Evelyn enjoyed her home and delighted in working in her garden. Gardening was a blessing and calming to her. Eating the fresh produce was a bonus if the weather cooperated and produced well. Evelyn was fortunate to have lived a long life, was generous, and always willing to help family and friends. She loved cooking, baking, reading, and was an excellent crafter. Evelyn loved knitting, crocheting, and tatting. She was a hard working daughter, wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and good friend. We will miss her baked beans, birthday cakes, and butter horns, but most of all we will miss her.

Evelyn leaves a legacy of family, friends, strength and determination, worthy of several lifetimes.

Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Donna (Bob); grandson Michael (Michelle); granddaughter Reteena (Jamie); four great-grandchildren, Carter, Ethan, Zachary and Chloe. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Lois, cousin Jean, and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was predeceased by her loving husband Kenneth, parents, William and Alice Kline; brothers, Winard (Marie), Jack (Julie), Donald; and sister Mary (Roy).

In keeping with Evelyn’s wishes their will not be a formal gathering. Please forward condolences through www.calgarycrematorium.com

The family would like to give many thanks to Dr. Moneta, for her dedication, and support; CBI home care staff; Brenda Stafford Bow View Manor, and Dr. Barb Smyth, for the care and attention in her time of need.

The family want to thank family and friends for their best wishes thoughts and prayers.
