So long for now my friend. You were an amazing human being. I will always fondly remember so many nights sitting together; laughing. and chatting at 448 Spadina. Enjoyed the time we all spent together at York U. Business School. Your trips to visit me in Miami were special. Never missed a day at Hialeah race track. Great days. Sorry we never saw each other recently. I will see you on the other side of life my friend. Shalom !!
Send my deepest sympathy and best wishes to you Vicky !

It is with deep sadness to hear of Gerry’s quick turn of events.
Our sincere condolences to Vickie, Susan, Steve & Kim and all the family.
Many fond memories of great times with Gerry. Something I will always cherish is meeting Gerry at his apartment after work so many times to “get prepared to go to California sandwiches and a Jays game”! I know you all know what I mean! Nothing but laughs and giggles for the rest of the evening!
Always remember and appreciate Gerry and Vickie and Susan joining us to celebrate Vanessa’s and Alex wedding in California. Lots of fun!!!
Gerry was always there to give words of support to anyone when needed.
We are with you all always,
Greg, Doreen, Danielle, Leland, Vanessa, Alex, Auntie Ann uncle Paul, Carol, Nick, Dianna, Dan and families.

Gerry stands out as one of the most genuine individuals one will ever know, kind, compassionate and such great wit. We will forever love and cherish our memories of Gerry. Our game nights playing, and mostly losing at cards and dice to Gerry. Weekends camping and Gerry making his infamous dessert on the hot coals - banana, chocolate and marshmallows, oh so good !!
Vickie, you and Gerry had a special love that will endure for all time. Sue, Steve and Kim, he so loved his family, our most heartfelt sympathy to you all
Love Deb & Ron Rhyasen

Such an amazing soul. Best neighbour anyone could ask for! Gerry became a regular at the table anytime I hosted poker night. He will be missed. His memory will live on and Scotch will raised in his honour.

I have so many fond memories of times with Gerry, it's hard to choose any as my favourites. But the one thing that always stood out for me in all those moments was his wonderful sense of humour. He had a unique perspective on things, and his witty comments during conversations totally cracked me up. And they still do whenever they come to mind.
Just thinking of Gerry puts a big smile on my face. Love you Gerry!

I met and played poker with Gerry at his neighbor Ian’s house. Gerry was always funny and kind and tried to be generous as he was taking my money. I will continue to miss him at the poker table.

Gerry was easy to like. He loved to laugh, and make people laugh. He was kind and smart, loved music and had no idea how nice a guy he was. First time I met him was in Calgary in the mid 70's. A bunch of us decided to fly to Vegas and then road tripped to LA. Gerry entertained everyone in the car with hilarious stories about his relatives and life at the track. He was generous. Gerry let me use his beloved apartment in Toronto when I had to work there. I will always remember him with that permanent grin on his face.

I wish we would have been able to make that trip to New York you wanted all of us to take. I wish you and Vickie would have been able to come back and stay with us at least one more time. I will miss your regular check in phone calls to Kim and I, especially hearing you usual message on our answering machine in your high pitched voice…”hi guys, just me..I’ll talk to you later”
I will always think of you. Kim and I love you very much.
Say hi to mom and dad for me. I’ll see you again someday.

Spent countless Sundays just me and Gerry watching football. So many trips - New York, Chicago, Miami, LA - to catch a ball game. I have a thousand memories of Gerry and I cherish them all. He was a sweet soul and a loyal friend. Love and strength to Vickie and the family from Mark and Lovleen.

I remember the days working with Gerald at both Greenwood and Woodbine racetracks selling the Daily Racing forms and Gerald sneaking up on me for not screaming loud enough “get your daily racing forms here’” / may he R.I.P…
