Obituary of Man Yu Li

Man Li beloved wife Liu Li of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 at the age of 85 years.

Man Yu was born in HeShan, Guangdong China on December 30, 1935. She immigrated to Canada in 1991.

Man Yu married Yi Liu. They raised two daughters, Huihong and Huiling.

Man Yu accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of raising and nurturing healthy, caring, and responsible children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Man Yu had a passion for cooking and spending time with her family. She also had a passion to nurture and care for those close to her.

Combining her two strengths, she had this great ability to bring people together over food and make sure loved ones were connected, well fed with lots of laughter. She also enjoyed swimming and travelling when she had the opportunity.

Man Yu’s most memorable vacation was in 2018 when we took a road trip together through the mountains as a family, while her eldest daughter and great granddaughter were travelling to Canada, creating memories with four generations together.

She will be most remembered for her dedication to family, generous spirit, outgoing attitude, and never letting anyone pay for their meal.

Man Yu is survived by her two daughters, Huihong and Huiling, son-in-law Huang Cai; three grandchildren, Celine, Danny, and Samuel, great grandchild Hailey and several nieces and nephews.

Man Yu was predeceased by her husband, Liu Yi; parents, Qiguang Li and Chunmeil Li. As well as, son-in-law, Jianing Feng and her sister, Manlian.

Those attending will be asked to confirm one of the following, (A) COVID vaccination (date requested), OR (B) a negative COVID test (within 72 hours), OR (C) Medical exemption OR (D) Under 12 years of age.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4^th Street NW, (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.
